EMCOR UK Leads RoSPA Sector Awards

EMCOR UK has been recognised with several awards from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for its commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards.

The company won the Facilities Management Industry Sector Award and Water Industry Sector Award which both attracted a field of international entrants. EMCOR was also awarded RoSPA’s Workforce Involvement in Safety and Health Trophy for demonstrating the best involvement of employees in an organisation’s health and safety management.

In addition to these awards, the global facility services provider received four Gold Medals for its partnerships with various clients. Medals are presented to organizations that have won between five and nine consecutive Gold Awards. EMCOR UK won Gold Medals for its partnerships with United Utilities (eight consecutive Gold Awards), Anglian Water (eight consecutive Gold Awards), Thames Water (seven consecutive Gold Awards), and British Sugar (five consecutive Gold Awards). The company also received a second consecutive Gold Award for its partnership with the United Kingdom Department of Health and Social Care, and a Gold Award for its Royal Sun Alliance partnership for the first time.

The awards cover the period from 1st January to 31st December 2022.

RoSPA’s Health and Safety Awards programme is the largest dedicated to occupational safety in the world, attracting some 2,000 entries from around 50 countries every year. The programme recognises entrants’ commitment to continuous improvement in the prevention of accidents and ill health at work – with the panel assessing health and safety management systems, including leadership practices and the employee buy-into safety policies.

We’re proud of our health and safety record and will continue to enhance our processes to ensure we remain an industry leader.

Keith Chanter, EMCOR UK’s CEO, expressed his delight at the company’s award wins, saying, “We’re proud of our health and safety record and will continue to enhance our processes to ensure we remain an industry leader.” Jonathan Gawthrop, Executive Director for Wellbeing, Sustainability & Assurance, added, “Our multiple award wins are testament to our approach of actively engaging our teams in delivering safety.” Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, congratulated the company on its achievements and commended its commitment to keeping employees, clients, and customers safe from accidental harm and injury.
