SOCOTEC has hosted a second careers/STEM Day for students of The Grace Academy in Solihull at its Training and Operations Centre in Coventry.
Students from the academy near Birmingham interviewed Materials Testing, Structures and Pavements, and Ground Investigation teams, and heard presentations relating to future science-based careers’ opportunities.
They also toured laboratories as a concrete cube compressive strength test was underway, prior to competing as teams in a Tower of Pisa Challenge to recreate the highest model of the famous building on soft ground.
The activity was supported by the Institution of Civil Engineers.
