Actavo Awarded Place on UK National Grid Framework

Actavo’s Protective and Decorative Coating (PDC) division has been awarded a place on the UK’s National Grid’s transmission network and substations framework.
120 PDC employees will support the provision of asset painting services under the agreement, with 60 applicators specialising in painting National Grid transmission towers.
Actavo reports it has conducted services for the National Grid for thirty years and has never experienced a Lost Time Incident while completing over three-million-man hours working on its behalf.
The PDC division has also achieved 20 years of RoSPA awards in recognition of its safety policies and practices.
Actavo estimates it has carried out PDC services on 15,000 towers and substations since it commenced work with the National Grid, ensuring that these assets are painted safely to specification, on time and to budget, thus extending the asset life of critical UK power infrastructure.
I believe we have the best PDC team in the industry, and this has been proven by our exemplary track record over the years.
Jim Salkeld, managing director, Actavo Industrial UK, says: “Actavo PDC is extremely proud to continue to work with the UK National Grid, and to count itself as one of the few companies that has the resources and knowledge to carry out this specialised work on some of the UK’s most important national infrastructure assets.
“As a company we pride ourselves on delivering a best-in-class service, on time, on budget and most importantly, with health and safety as the foremost consideration. I believe we have the best PDC team in the industry, and this has been proven by our exemplary track record over the years.”
