Listen to this article

Compass Group facilities management business 14forty has been Highly Commended at the Global FM Awards of Excellence for its forward-thinking approach to workplace catering.

The awards were created to enable GFM Members – who include the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) in the United Kingdom, the Middle East Facility Management Association (MEFMA) and several other national organisations representing the facility services sector, to showcase and communicate their member’s achievements to an international audience.

GFM members nominate ‘best in class’ performers from their own member award programs or  encourage member companies and organisations to submit suitable projects or achievements via the GFM nomination process.

The Awards bring entries from around the world each year. These nominations must be submitted in line with our  guidelines.

IWFM nominated 14forty, the winner in the ‘Wellbeing’ category of its Impact Awards programme.

14forty received the latest accolade for transforming its food offer across its workplace restaurants, putting wellbeing at the heart of its menus and using plant-based recipes to help clients nudge employees into healthier food choices.

With sustainability high on its agenda, it also partnered with the University of Oxford to develop eco labelling which rates dishes from A to E depending on how good they are for the environment. 14forty backed this project with a range of initiatives to support employee health and wellbeing. These included D&I initiatives, which allow people to bring ‘their whole selves’ to work, and changes to policies which help people at different stages of their life (including menopause, maternity. paternity and adoption policies).

14forty’s ‘Putting wellbeing at its heart’ project was a hit with the GFM judges, who Highly Commended the company.

We work hard to create and promote wellbeing programmes across all areas of our business, such as D&I and sustainability, not just our food offer. To be recognised in such a prestigious awards scheme is testament to our hard working and dedicated employees.

Mauro Ortelli, managing director, says: “Our brand is centred around championing our partners, people and the planet, so wellbeing flows through the deepest veins of our business. To be Highly Commended in the Global FM Awards of Excellence feels fantastic.

“We work hard to create and promote wellbeing programmes across all areas of our business, such as D&I and sustainability, not just our food offer. To be recognised in such a prestigious awards scheme is testament to our hard working and dedicated employees.

“So, I’d like to thank our team, as well as the IWFM for the nomination. We are absolutely delighted.”
