PPDS, the global supplier of Philips-branded professional displays, has joined forces with TechArts, an AV/IT system integration company, to create and install a stunning 31ft x 11ft Philips 9000 dvLED wall at the Desert Reign Church (DRC) in Downey, California.

The remarkable partnership aims to revolutionize the congregation’s experience both within the church and during remote streaming.

DRC, located 15 miles southeast of Los Angeles, holds a significant place within the local community, offering a range of daily services and Christian music events. As part of their commitment to enhancing their facilities, DRC teamed up with TechArts, a local specialist with expertise in the house of worship market, and PPDS to replace their outdated stage setup with a state-of-the-art Philips dvLED wall on the main stage.

The 1.9-pixel pitch, Philips L-Line 9000LED display, measuring 31ft x 11ft, is the largest ever built by PPDS in North America, creating a visually immersive experience for every member of the audience. The 9000 Series ensures crystal-clear visibility from any seating position, making it a preferred choice for a wide range of applications. Its unique in-house designed software and exclusive capabilities ensure exceptional image clarity and readability, even in challenging lighting conditions. The display’s components, including gold wiring, deliver top-notch performance with vibrant whites, deep blacks, and outstanding color contrast.

Aside from providing unparalleled viewing experiences, the dvLED wall features a modular sustainable design and remote Active Health Monitoring. This allows for efficient future maintenance and parts replacement, with real-time problem pinpointing. Troubleshooting and content management can be done remotely, with the 9000 Series boasting up to 20 per cent energy savings compared to competitor models without compromising performance.

The safety features of the 9000 LED wall include fire retardant design to slow down flame spread during a fire event and IP30 rated conformal coating for resistance against dust, dirt, fungus, and moisture. The wall’s certification against ingress minimizes the risk of short circuits caused by dust and corrosion.

People were amazed when they walked in.

Daniel Dutch, Lead Pastor at Desert Reign Church, expresses his satisfaction with the project: He says: “This one I would rate as an A+. People were amazed when they walked in. The collaboration between PPDS and TechArts was seamless throughout.”

Chuck Mitchell, CEO of TechArts, says: “This was a unique LED project that was born out of a desire for the church to go to the next level for experience. When they saw the incredible high-resolution quality from Philips, they were in no doubt this was the right solution for their needs.”

Mitchell Rosenberg, Director of dvLED and videowall NA at PPDS, adds: “The result was amazing, and the wall is currently our largest dvLED install to date and our first large-scale demonstration of how we can support markets, such as places of worship, in creating a more engaging, inspiring and immersive experience.”

With a focus on customer-centricity, PPDS is dedicated to supporting DRC’s vision and delivering exceptional results.
