Sigfox operator and IoT network Heliot Europe has appointed Gareth Mitchell as UK Partner Manager following its acquisition of WND UK’s Sigfox 0G™ network operations.
Heliot Europe is the exclusive operator of the global Sigfox 0G network in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, the UK, Denmark and Liechtenstein.
Mitchell, who has previously worked for BT Wholesale and served most recently as WND’s IOT Solution Sales and Partner Manager, will be responsible for driving growth and partnership development in the United Kingdom, predominantly by maximising sales of IoT connectivity solutions based on sub-gigahertz 0G-WAN networks.
He says: “During the last 20 years I’ve seen how the industry has evolved from a product/commodity based solution sell to a services led market. I’m passionate about the potential for the channel and end users to profit from selling and using IoT solutions; which would comprise of consultancy, connectivity and devices; and the slick execution of technology deployments.
“While IoT has taken a little bit of time to reach a point of momentum, I believe we’ve hit that critical point where its ubiquity, and the value it brings to businesses, is rising.”
