An industry collaboration between sustainable technology specialist Pilot Group and global heating equipment manufacturer Reznor aims to provide cost-effective energy solutions for UK businesses.
Pilot Group’s Energy Management System (EMS) will be exclusively offered alongside Reznor’s HVAC equipment to create the NOVA EMS. This combined system integrates Reznor’s advanced unit and radiant heater ranges with Pilot Group’s intelligent EMS, designed to monitor, control, and optimize a building’s energy consumption.
The NOVA EMS is particularly suited for businesses operating in industrial settings, out-of-town retail spaces, warehouses, and factories, with a focus on reducing energy costs and improving employee comfort.
Pilot Group’s EMS has a track record of delivering average energy savings of 43% per year. The collaboration offers a comprehensive, cost-effective heating system that can be conveniently controlled via smart technology.
Pilot Group, headquartered in Manchester, and Reznor’s European Headquarters in the West Midlands, joined forces to address rising energy costs. The EMS is seamlessly integrated into Reznor’s RHeco and Photon unit heaters and Vision radiant heaters during installation, offering an all-in-one heating system.
This partnership enhances energy savings, with Reznor’s RHeco unit heaters known to increase thermal efficiency by up to 109%. The Photon heaters extend operational life with 4-pass heat exchanger technology, and the Vision radiant heater is up to 15% more effective than standard radiant tube heaters, offering increased thermal efficiencies of up to 90%.
The NOVA EMS can be installed at the heater stage for real-time energy data and greater savings. It can also be retrofitted to existing heaters, allowing businesses to identify immediate energy-saving opportunities and optimize their heating systems year after year.
Pilot Group’s EMS complements Reznor’s HVAC technology by autonomously monitoring and controlling the system using smart sensors and a self-learning algorithm. Data from various zones within a building is sent to a central control panel and communicated to the heaters for efficient operation. Users can access and analyze this data remotely, enabling energy-saving strategies during off-peak times.
Pilot Group’s EMS division saved UK companies over £1 million in energy costs over the past year, following an investment of over £500,000. When combined with Reznor’s heaters, the EMS offers potential energy savings that could recoup the system’s cost within a few years.
As energy bills continue to be a concern for businesses, Pilot Group and Reznor’s partnership provides a solution to address these challenges.
Lee Morgan, EMS Managing Director at Pilot Group, says, “This partnership is designed to offer users a comprehensive system that proactively reduces energy consumption and delivers achievable savings.”
Richard Leese, Managing Director at Reznor, adds, “This partnership with Pilot Group and their sophisticated energy management expertise means we can further increase the energy efficiency of the HVAC solutions we supply.”
Pilot Group, with a turnover of £45 million and 160 employees, focuses on carbon reduction and energy efficiency through energy management systems, electric vehicle charging points, and traffic control systems. Reznor, founded in 1888, delivers sustainable HVAC products and solutions. In 2014, it was acquired by Nortek Inc.
