World Water Day: Elior UK Supports Water Unite

Listen to this article

Elior UK has worked with global non-profit Water Unite for the past five years donating more than £100,000 towards initiatives to support water, sanitation and recycling projects in East Africa.

Today, on World Water Day, Elior has expanded its fundraising partnership by collaborating with Britvic, one of its key suppliers, to increase future donations.

In addition to the caterer’s donation of 1p per can of Aqua Libra water (a Britvic product), Britvic has agreed to donate a further 1.5p per canned drink sold across Elior sites to Water Unite. This includes infused variants as well as recently launched still and sparkling water.

I was lucky enough to go to Kenya last year and see first hand how our fundraising contributions are making a difference.

In 2023, Elior’s support for the social businesses in Water Unite’s portfolio helped to: distribute over 135 million litres of safe drinking water to over 500,000 people; safely manage over 1,048 tonnes of faecal sludge; prevent over 2,700 tonnes of pollution; and support over 4,700 jobs in emerging markets.

Charlotte Wright, Director of CSR for Elior UK, says: “I was lucky enough to go to Kenya last year and see first hand how our fundraising contributions are making a difference. It is really humbling to see. Working with Britvic will now accelerate this progress and allow us to support even more people and communities.”

We’re so proud of everything we have achieved with Elior to date, and we are thrilled that Britvic is now onboard.

Noel Dickson, Managing Director at Aqua Libra says: “Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Aqua Libra’s mission is to drive a sustainable future providing accessible hydration solutions and promoting alternatives to single-use plastics. Collaborating with Elior and Water Unite is perfectly aligned with our values and we’re thrilled to be aiding water sanitation in East Africa.”

Louis Goring-Morris, Partnerships Director at Water Unite, adds: “We’re so proud of everything we have achieved with Elior to date, and we are thrilled that Britvic is now onboard. Together we can achieve even more to tackle the world’s most pressing water challenges.”

Elior UK is committed to making a difference by fostering sustainable practices, supporting local communities, and driving positive change. Through continued collaboration with Water Unite and other impactful partnerships including Britvic, Elior UK will continue to further its commitment to global sustainability and social responsibility.
