
The Aramark-managed restaurant at the SAP headquarters in Walldorf, Germany has been recognized for its commitment to upholding environmentally sustainable practices in a competition sponsored by Germany’s Federal Environment Agency.

The prestigious Green Soup Ladle prize was awarded in April 2024 based on assessment criteria including vegetarian and plant-forward cuisine; organic, regional/local, and fair-trade food offerings; the minimization of food and packaging waste; and consumer information and communications.
The carbon footprint of the catering business at SAP, a global leader in software and technology, is calculated to keep a comprehensive eye on the effectiveness of the sustainability strategy.

Criteria for the Green Soup Ladle award was evaluated by Environmental Action Germany (Deutsche Umwelthilfe/DUH), a renowned nonprofit organization that has been committed to the environment and consumers’ rights for almost 50 years, and NAHhaft, which is focused on developing healthy and sustainable food concepts.
This is the first year that company restaurants were recognized in the competition.
