Andy Donnell, former Westway and ABM UK managing director has returned to the facilities management industry following six years in semi-retirement as a non-executive director of challenger business CoSourced Group.
CoSoured is a specialist HVAC and Fire and Smoke Control sub-contractor working with some of the facilities management industry’s biggest names and demonstrating impressive growth under the leadership of Paul Blackford.
Donnell says: “CoSourced is the industry’s best kept secret in my opinion. Not only has it confidently and securely moved from a small to medium sized outfit quickly, but its vision for the future is something which is desperately needed in the sector.
“It is the first business I felt I could really get behind since I retired. I’m over the moon to be involved, and we have exciting developments in the coming months that will continue to drive growth.”
Paul Blackford, CoSourced Group founder, adds: “We have big ambitions and we need the right support behind us if we’re going to deliver. Having Andy join our Board has been a ‘pinch me’ moment; but has also assured us that our vision will be realised. We look forward to the journey ahead.”
Donnell began his career as an apprentice electrician before rising through the ranks in roles covering operations and account management. He joined Westway in January 2007 and led the firm through management buyouts in 2009 and 2014.
Having sold Westway to ABM Industries in 2015 and following a three years running ABM’s Business & Industry division in the UK, Donnell took semi-retirement in 2018.
He has since focussed on his philanthropic passions, and adds: “I hold a board position at Samaritans that is very close to my heart. The professional experience I’ve gathered in the FM industry across crisis management, strategic planning, and operational efficiency have been crucial in supporting the Samaritans’ mission. I will continue to do my part in contributing to a resilient, effective support system that truly makes a difference in people’s lives.”
