The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics hosted the annual Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo (FNCE), the world’s largest meeting of food and nutrition experts, in Minneapolis from 5th to 8th October.
Bringing together Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs), Nutrition and Dietetic Technicians, Registered (NDTRs), researchers, policymakers, healthcare providers, and industry leaders to discuss key issues affecting the health of Americans, attendees of the event included over 70 employees from Aramark.
As one of the largest employers of Registered Dietitians in the United States, the company was represented by several business lines including Aramark Healthcare+, Aramark SeniorLIFE+, Aramark Student Nutrition, Aramark Collegiate Hospitality, Aramark Workplace Experience Group, and Aramark Corrections.
Engagement and Presentations
Aramark Healthcare+ showcased a booth on the showroom floor, where representatives highlighted the first of its kind telehealth program introduced earlier this year. This innovative program leverages cloud-based technologies to remotely connect Aramark’s expert clinical dietitians with hospital patients, enhancing patient care through virtual consultations.
Additionally, Sierra Jacko, RD, LD, CNSC, Holly McStravick, RDN, LD, CNSC, and Christine Medin, MS, RDN, LD, from Aramark Healthcare+ at Baylor Scott and White Health, presented their quality improvement project titled, “Reducing Restrictive Diets in the Inpatient Setting”.

Nourish Reception Highlights
Aramark’s Nourish employee resource group (ERG) hosted a reception for members featuring a service activity where attendees created get-well and congratulations cards for patients at North Memorial Hospital and Maple Grove Hospital in Minnesota.
The event included a welcome speech from executive sponsor Gary Crompton, President and CEO of Aramark Workplace Experience Group, discussion on telehealth programs, recognition of the program’s first dietetic scholarship awardees, and the announcement of a new program called, “A Day in the Life of a Dietitian”.

Scholarship Awards
Aramark has provided an accredited dietetic program to thousands of interns since 1991. For over 30 years, future registered dietitian nutritionists have chosen the Aramark Program to begin their careers with a company recognized for its culture of service and people-first approach.
This year, the Nourish ERG provided four scholarships to participants in Aramark’s Dietetic Internship Program. The scholarships were awarded based on leadership skills, community engagement, and the ability to promote an inclusive environment. Congratulations to the recipients: Jesse Grawe, Demetrices “Dee” Robinson, Andrea Quintanilla Quinteros, and James “Jimmy” Dougherty.
