EMCOR UK has received an award in the Health & Safety category of this year’s Considerate Constructors Gala Awards.
The ceremony at the Natural History Museum in London celebrated individuals and organisations committed to elevating standards across the industry.
Recipients of awards in the Health & Safety category were chosen by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
The Considerate Constructors Scheme is an independently managed, not-for-profit organisation that works side-by-side with the construction industry and the public to raise standards and build trust in construction. Awards are given to exceptional sites, organisations and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the Code of Considerate Practice in the areas of Community, Environment and Workforce.
Earlier this year, EMCOR UK won RoSPA’s Sir George Early Trophy, its oldest and most prestigious health and safety award. It was first given out in 1956, and the winner is selected from the highest-performing Industry Sector Award winners. EMCOR UK won the Facilities Management (FM) Sector Award.
This award is further acknowledgement that EMCOR UK is a leading health and safety organisation both in FM and beyond.
For the Sir George Earle Trophy, shortlisted companies had to answer ten key performance questions on the structure of occupational accident prevention, problem assessments, priority reporting, and more. The board and executive HSEQ leadership and governance were also assessed by RoSPA’s expert Adjudication Panel of independent consultants and professionals, before being examined by additional judges for each sector.
Jonathan Gawthrop, executive director for safety quality & risk at EMCOR UK, says: “It was a privilege to receive this award in recognition of the safety excellence our teams exhibit throughout their complex projects.
“The Considerate Constructors vision to create a future where community engagement, sustainability and workforce wellbeing are at the heart of every project aligns with our own. This award is further acknowledgement that EMCOR UK is a leading health and safety organisation both in FM and beyond.”
