Mitie has been named ‘most admired support services company’ at the Britain’s Most Admired Companies awards, the UK’s longest-running survey of corporate reputation which are held in partnership with the London Stock Exchange.

As part of the celebrations for the award at the London Stock Exchange, Mitie CEO Phil Bentley joined other business leaders from Greggs, Rentokil, Berkeley Group, Business in the Community and the London Stock Exchange on a panel hosted by Sky News Business Presenter Ian King to discuss how businesses can address and leverage opportunities and risks identified by the survey – from technology and AI to policy reforms and talent development.

Being recognised as one of Britain’s Most Admired Companies is a tremendous achievement and is testament to the passion, dedication, and expertise of all our colleagues across Mitie.

Britain’s Most Admired Companies offers unparalleled insights into the standing of FTSE 100 and 250 companies over the past 35 years. Based on evaluations from a company’s closest observers and including competitors and financial analysts, the study assesses companies across 27 sectors and 13 key reputational drivers. Led by Echo Research, a globally renowned independent market research agency, the study continues to set the standard for board-ready insights and reputation valuation for businesses across the UK.

This accolade reflects Mitie’s exceptional performance across the board as it continues to build a successful, sustainable, and inclusive business. Following a significant year-on-year uplift, Mitie Group leads the Support Services sector in the UK this year by a considerable margin and ranks fourth overall among companies measured in this study. It was also awarded silver certificates for leadership in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and Effective Use of Corporate Assets, as well as a Bronze for Positive Contribution to Society.

Marking the first time facility services provider has secured this title, the sector award follows a positive year in which Mitie generated record profits, acquired five specialist businesses, and won a number of major new contracts. Mitie also accomplished industry-leading colleague investment accreditations such as achieving Silver in The 5% Club, being named a top 100 Apprenticeship Employer and the ninth most Inclusive UK Employer, as well as reaching multiple decarbonisation milestones, including taking delivery of its 6,000th electric vehicle.

Bentley says: “Being recognised as one of Britain’s Most Admired Companies is a tremendous achievement and is testament to the passion, dedication, and expertise of all our colleagues across Mitie. Earning the top award for our sector highlights the breadth of our commitment to creating a sustainable, inclusive, and high-performing business.

“Our success is built on innovation, collaboration, and creating better places where communities thrive. It was a pleasure to join the panel alongside some of the UK’s most respected business leaders to discuss the upcoming opportunities for 2025.”
