Caerphilly Offers Free Food Waste Caddy Liners During Food Waste Action Week

Listen to this article

As part of the UK’s largest annual food waste reduction campaign, “Food Waste Action Week”, Caerphilly County Borough Council is reminding residents that food waste caddy liners are still available for free and can be collected from various locations across the county borough.

The local authority first launched its free food waste caddy liners initiative in December 2023 to encourage residents to recycle their food waste every week of the year.

The Council has recorded a year-on-year increase to food waste recycling with an overall increase of 20 per cent or 962.87 metric tonnes since the launch of the trial. The number of free food waste caddies requested by residents has also increased.

Free indoor food waste caddy liners are available for collection from local libraries, leisure centres, Bedwas Council Chambers, Penallta House, Machen RFC, Blackwood Town Council and Penallta Reuse Shop.
