Members of Delaware North’s team at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex have been recognized with an award from the Florida Safety Council.
Delaware North operates the attraction which receives over 1.5 million visitors a year under contract from NASA, and is responsible for a range of hospitality services including the Kennedy Space Center Bus Tour and the Moon Rock Cafe.
Each day we welcome guests to the visitor complex from all over the world, and ensuring they have the freedom to explore in a safe environment is essential.
The attraction is funded by visitor-generated revenue with Delaware North offering visitors the opportunity to view artifacts from NASA’s Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and Space Shuttle Programs in its capacity as a Smithsonian Affiliate.
The award from the Florida Safety Council highlights the focus of team members on the ‘critical importance of safety in the community’ whilst also acknowledging the contribution of Delaware North and other organizations in promoting a culture of safety.
Therrin Protze, chief operating officer at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex tells FM Magazine: “Each day we welcome guests to the visitor complex from all over the world, and ensuring they have the freedom to explore in a safe environment is essential.
“Our team members play an integral role in supporting safety, and it’s great to see their efforts recognized by the Florida Safety Council.”
