One of Scotland’s largest independent engineering consultancy firms is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Established in 1985 by Willard Dougall and George Baillie, Dougall Baillie Associates (DBA) has grown steadily over the years and now employs a highly-skilled team of 41 people.

As a key player in tackling Scotland’s housing crisis, Dougall Baillie Associates is at the forefront of delivering sustainable, high-quality developments.

Working with clients ranging from large developers to SMEs, and across projects from single house extensions to multi-thousand home developments, in the last twelve months the East Kilbride-based business has achieved a 10 per cent increase in revenue, expanded its team by 10 per cent, and extended its reach into new markets.

Fergus Adams, managing director, says: “As we celebrate 40 years in business, I’m proud to say our commitment to excellence continues to shine through – customer satisfaction remains exceptionally high, and we’re consistently earning new clients through the strength of our reputation and word-of-mouth.

“Our continued growth is reflected in the scale of projects we’re delivering – from securing major developments like Durieshill on the outskirts of Stirling, the largest single planning application in Scotland, to actively supporting the housing sector with 6,000 homes across live sites, 8,000 in the design and approval pipeline, and expert engineering input for local plan submissions that could unlock a further 23,000 homes.
