KARPETCRYL Sisal Stain Repellent is formulated to bond with individual sisal fiber strands and thus protect against wine and coffee stains, and fouling by pets.

Fiber-Shield Industries' President and co-founder, Manny Vickers, says:

"We've developed a long-lasting solution that does not slide off sisal fiber like conventional products and delivers high performance and safe treatment for professionals working in a wide range of channels."

Super-hydrophobic coatings are nano-coatings that create an imperceptible layer of air that makes them extremely difficult to wet. They cause liquid spills to form into beads which sit on fiber surfaces and can simply be wiped away.

The product was initially launched in the United States where sisal carpets and rugs are becoming increasingly popular because of their durability and environmental credentials (sisal fibers are farmed sustainably and harvested by hand from the leaves of a cactus plant).
