Firestone Appoints UK & Ireland Sales Manager

Company News, Appointments, EMEA, Supplier News

Firestone Building Products has appointed Andrew Cooper as sales manager for its portfolio of roofing and lining products in the UK and Ireland, as it launches a website to provide accessible product information tailored to both countries.

Andrew’s new role sees him taking on sales and business development responsibility across commercial roofing, modular roofing and lining sectors, building on his previous remit of lining sales for decorative ponds, landscaping features and irrigation reservoirs for the agricultural sector. His remit as national sales manager will be to work closely with Firestone’s sales and technical teams across both commercial and modular roofing and lining, supporting specifiers and contractors with expert knowledge and a service-driven approach to sales.

With a 20-year track record in technical sales, Andrew joined Firestone in 2014 and has been instrumental in the growth of the company’s lining business. He will utilise that experience and understanding of the company’s added value approach to combining technical consultancy with product supply in his new role, which will include CPD presentations to architects and consultants, along with supporting the technical team in carrying out site assessments and developing contractor relationships with after sales support and training.

Andrew comments: “Firestone Building Products takes a personal approach to looking after every customer, including both specifiers and contractors, and ensuring every project is the best it can be.

“That culture will continue to sit at the heart of the business as we grow, with plans to add to our roofing sales team by the end of this year, and I’m delighted to have been given this key role of co-ordinating a consistently customer-focused approach across all we do for both the lining and roofing elements of the business.”

Firestone general manager, John McMullan adds: “Firestone has a long history of rewarding talent within the business and Andrew’s sales ability and positive approach to nurturing customer relationships have been huge assets to the business since he joined us four years ago.  He will continue to have day-to-day sales and after sales contact with customers with added responsibility for co-ordinating our activities in both roofing and lining. We’d like to congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion.”
