Bringing Big Data to FM

Company News, EMEA, Big Data

Autonomous FM has launched autoAnalytics, a standalone Big Data solution which is being provided free-of-charge to introduce Facilities Managers to dedicated data analytics and business intelligence reporting.

Last year’s RICS report, "Big Data – A New Revolution in the UK FM Sector", highlighted the fact that over 70 per cent of FM’s in the UK were either in the pre-adoption or early adoption stages of implementing a big data management strategy.

Available free of charge to any facilities professional, autoAnalytics provides guidance on accelerating the use of big data analytics on an industry-wide scale. The solution analyses clients' current facilities data through BI reporting to highlight trends, benchmark against current industry standards, and identify gaps in data collection to inform future strategies.

Gary Barbour, Autonomous FM director, says:

"As we look to disrupt the facilities sector even further, our experience and expertise in data analytics and reporting can be a real driving force to improve the sector as a whole.

"There is a misconception within the FM industry that implementing big data analytics is time-consuming and expensive. But it really isn’t and we are looking to introduce FM professionals to the plethora of tools available, and best practices in data collection to kick-start the revolution."

The autoAnalytics solution was previously available exclusively to users of the company's Integrator model which provides real-time reporting and strategic decision making support to improve service delivery.

Andrew Gill, Facilities Manager for global, not-for-profit organisation, Tearfund, says:

"Until we started working with Autonomous, data analytics hadn’t formed part of our long-term plan. Now we have seen the value and benefits that improved data management has delivered; we really couldn’t see ourselves working in any other way."
