Acquisition of STS Group

Company News, Facilities Management, EMEA, Service Provider News

German multinational facilities management provider, Dussmann Group, has acquired specialist Waterford, Republic of Ireland-based, electrical engineering, building automation and technical engineering solutions provider STS Group for an undisclosed figure.

The acquisition represents a milestone for Dussmann which announced its intention to deliver integrated, whole-of-life building engineering and maintenance solutions in-house following a strategic review in 2018.

STS's 700 employees will be integrated into Dussmann Technical Solutions (DTS) which was established earlier this year to consolidate the group's DKA HVAC-R and HEBO elevator manufacturing and maintenance subsidiaries. DTS focuses on clients with complex technical requirements and critical systems, including data centres, pharmaceutical companies and semiconductor manufacturers.

Announcing the acquisition, Catherine von Fürstenberg-Dussmann, chairwoman of Dussmann Group's board of trustees, said:

"Our personnel provide services and care for people of all ages; for the very young at the KulturKindergarten childcare centers to seniors at Kursana nursing and care facilities. With DTS, we are now involved in the entire life cycle of buildings."

Dr. Wolfgang Häfele, Dussmann Group executive board spokesman, added:

"The acquisition of STS is an important milestone. STS is a quality-oriented provider of engineering services with activities in many regions and contracts with blue-chip companies. It is an optimal addition to the existing technical portfolio."

Dussmann Group delivers FM activities under the brand name, Dussmann Service.
