Roof Membranes for Cold Weather Application
Company News, Americas
Roofing and waterproofing systems manufacturer Polyglass U.S.A., Inc., has added two self-adhesive elastomeric roof membranes to its product range.
Elastoflex SA V Polar Base™ and Elastoflex SA P Polar Cap™ are manufactured from modified bitumen to support roof system installation in temperatures of between 25 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit (4 to 6 degrees Celsius), with Elastoflex SA V Polar Base also reinforced with fiberglass for better dimensional stability.
The Elastoflex SA P Polar Cap product also boasts a UV-stabilized granule surface reinforced with polyester for puncture and tear resistance.
Manufactured using a patented ADESO® Dual-Compound Self-Adhered Technology, the premium membranes support cleaner installation, improve application speed, and eliminate the need for torches, according to the manufacturer - with both base and cap sheets benefiting from an SBS (elastomeric) formulation on their top weathering side, and an aggressive, self-adhesive formulation on the bottom side.
Polyglass also markets the products as offering unique qualities that improve efficiency and performance, including a layline finish to facilitate the application of the Elastoflex SA V Polar Base, and patent pending side-bonding solution for side and endlap seams, in the case of the Elastoflex SA P Polar Cap product solution.
CEO, Natalino Zanchetta, says:
"We are excited to introduce roofing solutions that may extend the roofing season,” says . “We continue to focus on innovation and providing products that make roofing in challenging weather conditions possible."
