Supporting Fox News in Turkey

EMEA, Technology, Supplier News

The Fox Corporation's new Istanbul studio is utilising a Sony CLED display system as the backdrop for news bulletins broadcast to millions of people every day.

Fox News required a solution to support their dynamic news readers who require a backdrop they can interact with easily and stand close to without image loss or distortion.

The Sony CLED display systems with a 1.8 x 4.8K resolution was selected as its near-180 degree viewing angle means news anchors can be very creative and engaging in presenting progams.

System integration was conducted by Sony Professional partner, İnOnTo A.Ş., who are also based in İstanbul.

Necip Kırçın, VP, Operations for Fox Turkey, says:

"We had been looking to upgrade our backdrop and the Sony CLED display system is unparalleled when it comes to image quality. We like the excellent contrast and high dynamic range, which delivers true black on camera. Sony is always great to work with thanks to their expertise, excellent products and services and great local support."

Sony Professional Sales Manager, Koray Köymen, adds:

"We very much value our relationship with FOX Turkey and being able to provide them with one of our highest quality products, the CLED display system.

"The project is also one of the biggest installations in the region so we’re very proud. CLED display systems are predominantly used by high-end customers in boardrooms, museums and retail showrooms to corporate lobbies, design studios and scientific research facilities, so it’s great to see a leading broadcaster now being able to take advantage of its unique capabilities."

İnonto A.Ş. CEO Abdullah Şen, describes the project as a challenge, adding:

"It was great to work with Fox Turkey on this project.

"They needed a lot of industry expertise to help them build the backdrop and make it work seamlessly in their studio and we working closely with the expert Fox Turkey technical team.

"I’m sure the CLED display system will serve Fox Turkey well for many successful years."
