Going Crackers Over Sustainabiliy
Catering, EMEA, Service Provider News
As a company with a keen focus on the environment, UK contract caterer, Blue Apple, is withdrawing 20,000 crackers as an option from client sites over the festive season.
In the UK alone an estimated 150,000,000 crackers are bought over Christmas which, the company says, contributes to significant plastic waste.
Blue Apple Ambassador, Josh Key, explains:
"We all love a cracker at Christmas – who doesn’t?
"But as a company we are dedicated to reducing waste in every possible area, and removing crackers is a simple way to do this."
The caterer has also elected to send electronic Christmas cards this year, instead of hundreds of traditional cards.
