Russelectric Offers Customized Switchgear Simulators

Energy Management and Conservation, Americas, Supplier News
Siemens business Russelectric has introduced a range of switchgear simulators to assist companies with training personnel on its switchgear.

Designed for personnel responsible for manually or automatically operating the Russelectric® switchgear system, simulators mimic installed systems and are described as being "ideal for familiarizing workers and for accurately diagnosing a wide range of utility, generator, and breaker problems" by the power control solutions supplier.

Simulators can also be used to assess the impact of changes to PLC setpoints, including kW values and time delays. Using the simulators enables operators to evaluate an almost limitless number of responses to failure scenarios and use the information to develop and validate site operating and emergency procedures.

Russelectric Switchgear Simulators are being released in two versions: a "Training Simulator" for operatives involved with the automatic operation of Russelectric Switchgear; and an "Advanced Training Simulator" operators of both manual and automatic systems. With the addition of hard-wired controls and interlock circuits, the simulator PLC accurately mimics full manual controls, enabling personnel to train in the comfort and safety of an office environment.
